The Yankee Air Force Museum’s Thunder Over Michigan Airshow lived up to it’s reputation as one of North America’s best Warbird shows. 2015’s theme was Bombertown USA and the event delivered with an outstanding collection of bombers. British bombers included the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum’s Avro Lancaster and the Military Aviation Museum’s deHavilland Mosquito. American bombers included the Commemorative Air Force’s B-29, two B-17 Flying Fortresses, a PB4Y Privateer, four B-25 Mitchells, Tim Savage’s A-26 “Silver Dragon” and a PV2 Harpoon. The bombers were paraded around in two race-track patterns that presented lots of great photo opportunities. |

Rick Volker flew an aggressive aerobatic routine in his Harvard Mk.4. Transports included the YAFM’s C-47 and MAM’s Ju-52. The show also featured a German Air Force C-160 Transall and USAF KC-135 on static display. |
