2016 saw a downturn in participating aircraft from past years. Partly due to a combination of budget restraints and poor weather forecasted in the area. While we did see some mild showers on Friday, both Saturday and Sunday started off cloudy and turned into beautiful fair weather days. The length of the show was shortened with wavered airspace from 11:00 – 16:00 but with that said the flying was as great as ever. The photos are evidence of that. As usual, and unlike any other airshow, enthusiasts were allowed to arrive at sunrise and stay until after dark. Randy Ball flying the MiG-17 was the highlight for many. Many enjoyed the sight of the Curtiss C-46 Commando “Tinker Belle and P-51 Mustang “Mad Max”. All were disappointed the Military Aviation Museum’s FW-190 was a no-show due to mechanical issues. Regular participants included John “Skipper” Hyle and Scott “Scooter” Yoak. |

To sum up Geneseo 2016; It packed less punch then we have come to expect but has maintained the true Geneseo style. Open crowd lines, freedom to roam and get close to all aircraft. Sunrise to sunset access and the great chicken and steak dinners. Geneseo is still a one of a kind airshow. |
