On 28 April 2019 Canada’s ultra low cost airline, SWOOP began operations at London International Airport.
Sunday April 28th, Swoop flight WO534 arrived from Edmonton to a traditional water canon salute at CYXU London International Airport. Arriving just after noon time, Swoop’s Boeing 737-800 tail number 842 made the first daily non-stop flight connecting London to Edmonton. On May 24th, Swoop will add daily direct flights to Abbotsford and 6 days a week flights to Halifax from London. Travellers from Southwestern Ontario can now travel coast to coast without having to connect through Toronto Pearson International Airport or driving into the congested GTA.
Other aircraft spotted include the Jet Aircraft Museum's Red Knight T-33, Upright Aviation Academy's Extra, International Test Pilots School Bell 206 and WestJet Encore Q400.
