Knowing the first flight of the Avro CF-105 Arrow was close, Richard Dumigan went to Malton Airport as often as possible to try and catch Canada’s newest jet fighter. On 25 March 1958, he was at the end of the runway to capture the first take-off and landing of RL-201. |

Richard remained hidden under the cover of trees and brush so he would not get caught taking photos. |

Richard, expecting the CF-105 program to last, only went out to Malton randomly to try and catch the Arrow flying. Unfortunately, the only other Arrow he captured was RL-202. |

Boeing’s B-47B, 51-2059 was loaned to the RCAF as a test vehicle to mount and air test Orenda’s Iroquois engine that was planned power future Arrows. No Arrow was ever flown with the advanced Iroquois engine. |
