The paint scheme was designed to commemorate the Canadian Centennial of Flight. It incorporates classic Canadian Air Force motifs such as the lightning bolt on the fuselage and full-colour roundels. The centennial logo, designed by Dave O'Malley of Ottawa, is featured on both tails in full colour and faded blues. The Century Hornet's theme bears distinct similarities to two other aerobatic team aircraft, the Hawk One F-86 Sabre and a Snowbirds CT-114 Tutor painted like a Golden Centennaire.
