On September 25th the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum flew home their latest acquisition, a Noorduyn Norseman Mk.V. Registered CF-GSR, s/nN29-47 which was partially donated by Huron Air and Outfitter’s Ernie and Donna Nicholl. Two weeks prior the Norseman was ferried from Ignace, Ontario to Orillia Seaplane Base where the floats were removed and wheels installed so the aircraft could land at the museums home base at Hamilton International Airport. The Norseman was flown to Hamilton by CWH members Peter Stewart with Al Rowcliffe. |

The airframe and engine are in great condition and the CWH plan to have the Norseman join the museum’s ride program in 2016. Although the airframe never saw RCAF service the CWH plan to configure and paint the aircraft in RCAF markings when time and funds permit. No decision has been made on which RCAF markings the airframe will carry. |

On June 7, 1950 CF-GSR was delivered to Canadian Forest Products Ltd. In Vancouver. Over the last sixty years the airframe passed through many Canadian owners such as Austin Airways, Wheeler Airlines and Bearskin Lake Air Services to name a few. |
