On Sunday September 10th, Windsor residents were treated to the sight of a US Marine mock strike on a barge in front of the Detroit skyline and fly-over of USMC aircraft.

Every year the US Marines Corps host a Marine Week in cities across the United States and the first week in September saw Marines descend on the Detroit waterfront to connect with the local community. From September 6-10 the Marines performed live demonstrations, musical performances and taught about time-honoured Marine Corp traditions engaging the public with hands on exhibits. The USMC was formed in 1775 and has been the United States expeditionary force since that time. In times of crisis the Marines respond swiftly and aggressively from the air, land and sea.
