The 2011 edition of the Wings & Wheels Heritage Festival received a slow start with low clouds on Saturday morning but the tempo picked up as the clouds cleared in the afternoon. Several key aircraft arrived to help round out the event. Sunday saw great crowds who enjoyed the vintage cars, military aircraft, vendors and fun social activities. A treat for everyone was seeing the crews of the Griffin Helicopter and CF-18 Hornet prep their aircraft and depart.

A special treat for all was the arrival of Dave Gillespie and James Brooke in the world’s oldest flying deHavilland Chipmunk serial number 11. Their Chipmunk was built in the building that currently houses the Canadian Air & Space Museum and will remain on display at the museum after the event.
